Pionex built its reputation on free, built-in grid and DCA bots. It's a fair comparison to want to make — where does Ionide actually differ?
Pionex's core bots — grid trading and dollar-cost averaging — are strategies for trading price action. A grid bot profits by buying low and selling high within a range; a DCA bot smooths out entry price over time. Both are still taking a position on the asset's price.
Ionide runs a market-neutral strategy instead: spot-futures funding arbitrage, which pairs a long spot position with an equal-sized short futures position so price movement cancels out, and the funding fee exchanged between long and short traders is what's actually captured. See What is Spot-Futures Arbitrage? for the full mechanics.
Pionex's bots automate execution of a strategy you still largely define — grid range, DCA interval and size. Ionide automates the strategy selection itself within your chosen pool: pair selection, position sizing by leverage, and continuous rate monitoring all happen without further input once you've picked a pool.
| Pionex | Ionide | |
|---|---|---|
| Strategy | Grid / DCA (directional) | Funding arbitrage (market-neutral) |
| Ongoing input needed | Range/interval tuning | None after initial pool selection |
| Exchange | Pionex only | Bitget, MEXC |
| Self-hosted option | Not available | Available |
If you want to actively trade a range or accumulate a position over time, Pionex's tools are built for exactly that. If you'd rather not carry price risk and want a strategy that runs continuously without needing range or interval tuning, that's the gap Ionide is built to fill. Nothing stops you from running both for different parts of a portfolio — they're not mutually exclusive strategies.
